I’m in Self-Driving Mode
Letting Go, Cabo Favorites + Winter Staples
I’m in Self-Driving Mode (and Other Things I’m Letting Go Of)
If I haven’t told you in person already: I am officially in self-driving mode. At all times.
I grew up in NYC. I’m not a natural driver. I don’t love driving…I actually don’t even like it. So when my car offered me a free trial of self-driving, I accepted immediately with zero hesitation. What I didn’t expect was how quickly it would become the default. Within a few weeks, about 90% of my trips were self-driven.
Self-driving has been a real exercise in letting go of control. Letting something or someone with a better track record take the wheel. Trusting the data over my instincts. I’ll be honest: when the car is in full Mad Max mode on the 405, trust does not come easily. It’s kinda like a roller coaster by the way!
There are times I want to grab the wheel but the numbers speak for themselves. Self-driving cars are statistically safer than human-driven cars!! Yes, this is true for everyone - not just safer than my driving! And for this season of life, I’m choosing the numbers. I’m continuing my self-driving subscription through February and seeing where this experiment in trust takes me.
An unexpected bonus: time.
When the car is driving itself, I suddenly have space to plan, to talk, to think, to work. More clarity. And that has me thinking more intentionally about what I’m investing in this winter both in what I wear and how I stay connected.
Let’s get into it.
Resort Wear
Just got back from the girls trip to cabo and these were the MVPS:
My two piece outfit - Bought in white and also buying in black. Obsessed.
Amazon Dress - Wore and linked last summer. Wore again in Cabo. A million compliments for only $35
Day to night shoes that I wore on repeat! Thank you Teeks for these fabulous staples.
Always in my Abby Hat - now back in stock! Run don’t walk!
New vacation bag that I am LOVING from Nordstroms - seems to be sold out everywhere now but linking here.
My forever favorite chapstick now back in stock!
Winter Wear
I bought this sweater over the summer, during one of those weeks where it was so hot I could barely imagine putting knitwear on my body ever again. At the time, it felt slightly unhinged. Now? One of my best purchases and so resonable.
I also finally received a new scarf that had been on backorder for what felt like forever. Worth the wait. And yes, I am absolutely wearing scarves in 75-degree weather. I dress for the seasons, not the temperature now:)
